Successful Jeep Ride Event!

Jeep on Jeep

We had a great time at the 1st Annual PPFOA Jeep Ride for the Cause! Thanks to EVERYONE who attended, volunteered, and sponsored this event. We could not have made this event successful without you!

Our amazing sponsors:

For those of you that couldn’t attend, it was a great day with fair weather. The grass lot behind Woody’s BBQ in Ponte Vedra was full of Jeeps and the 70 Jeep long convoy coming down A1A and onto Vilano Beach was truly a site to see. There were reports of Vilano Beach residents waving American flags from their roof tops. The food on the beach was sizzlin’ and love (bugs) was in the air. It must have taken an hour and a half to go through all of the raffle prizes our sponsors had so generously donated. 1 out of 3 participants received a raffle prize. Towards the end, a rain cloud got loose and cut the event a little short, but I must admit, it added a nice sense of urgency to get everyone and everything off the beach. Afterwards, the beach was so clean, you couldn’t tell we were there.

Playin in the Sand at the Beach.

All in all the event was a success. The PPFOA raised over two-thousand dollars towards our cause. We are truly overwhelmed with the amount of support the charity received. Thanks again to everyone and God Bless.

If you haven’t yet, please head over to our facebook page and like our page. This will allow you to get updates about events and related news. Plus if you “Like Us” in the next day or so, you’ll be eligible for some late raffle prizes.

Remembering the Sailors Onboard the USS Stark FFG-31

Remembering the sailors onboard who bravely gave their lives on May 17, 1987.

The USS STARK, A Fast Frigite Warship, came under attack by Iraqi flown Jets twenty five years ago.“The memories are still fresh” said Tim Martineau, a Navy diver who was onboard the Stark the dreaded night the attack occurred. Thirty seven shipmates perished and many were badly injured.

Many of the injured have been dealing with various illnesses that include depleted uranium poisoning from bomb shrapnel, also known as toxic imbedded fragments, and many other toxic related health issues. Breathing the smoke and fumes from the fires onboard and vapor particles from the initial explosions were also very toxic to these sailors. Officials attending the event were; Florida State Representative Col. Ronald Renuart (ret) from the National Guard and Rear Admiral David Thomas.
